I have been practising Iyengar yoga for 28 years. After many years studying the subject, I undertook the rigorous two-year Iyengar yoga training programme at the Iyengar Yoga Institute, Maida Vale, London to qualify as an Introductory yoga teacher. I have embarked on further training and have now reached the teaching level Intermediate Junior level 2.
Iyengar yoga has been a very important and deeply valued part of my life throughout adulthood. Teaching yoga was a natural progression , building on my long years of practice and study with teachers all over the UK.
My own professional development continues: I attend weekly classes with Jayne Orton in Birmingham, one of only two advanced level Iyengar teachers in the UK, as well as regular workshops with senior UK teachers and visiting Indian teachers. In December 2014 I studied directly with Geeta Iyengar for ten days in Pune, India. In July 2017 I spent a month studying directly with the Iyengar family and their senior teachers at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune.
I loves the practice of Iyengar yoga, especially the deepening of my understanding and knowledge that regular practice has brought me. I loves passing on the many benefits of Iyengar yoga to others through my teaching.
The Iyengar yoga certification mark. A sign of excellence, clarity and depth of understanding.
